Southern Cebu

  Going Down! Find your bus at the South Bus Terminal if you're heading south. There are routes that go to the Southwest, the Southeast and even to Dumaguete! Check out some of the places you can go to from the list below, arranged from the closest to the farthest place from the city:

Tip:

• If your itinerary would include crossing from east to west or vice versa, change buses once you reach Carcar! 

Dalaguete

  If you're into hiking, you can check out Osmeña Peak in Mantalongon, Dalaguete. It's not a hard climb and the view is breathtaking!

How to get there:

   There's a minibus that departs from the Caltex Gas Station near Carbon and goes directly up to Mantalongon, which will take you about 3 hours. However, these minibuses are small, cramped and not ideal for taller people. You can choose to hop on a bus in the South Bus Terminal that passes by Dalaguete. Ask the dispatcher/driver to drop you off the corner going up to Mantalongon. 

  From there, you can take a habal-habal to drive you up to the Mantalongon market or even to the foot of Osmeña Peak. However, the hike from the market all the way to the peak has good sceneries. You can choose to get one of the local kids to guide you. They're usually just waiting by the market/bus stop.

Camping

  Osmena Peak is also a popular camping site so you can pitch your tent up there and spend the night!

TRAVERSE!

  You can opt to do the traverse from Osmeña Peak to Kawasan Falls. It will take you about 4 - 6 hours, depending on the size of your group and how fast you walk. It's a great experience!

  You can get the local kids as guides for the traverse. Find them by the market/bus stop.

Day Trips in Cebu

Some places listed below may require you to take an early bus/boat to be able to make the most out of your day trip, so you can be back before dark. 

• Danao
• Two hours away.
• Catmon
• Two and a half hours away.
• Camotes
• Two hours or so total travel time (one-way). Take an early boat out! 
• Toledo
• About an hour or so away.
• Barili
• About an hour and a half away.
• Badian 
• Three hours away. Take an early bus so you can come back earlier and wait for a bus around three or four pm. Most buses after five are full. 
• Dalaguete
• Three hours away (Osmena Peak). Don't necessarily have to be out early, since the climb is also pretty easy. If you want to watch the sunset, the only downside is the buses being full, traveling back to the city. You might have to stand halfway through. But hey, it's worth it. Sunset up there is beautiful!
• Boljoon
• About three hours away. You can also cross to Oslob to see Tumalog falls. 
• Oslob 
• Three to four hours away. You may need to take an early bus, say three or four am so you can watch the whale sharks. They close around 12 noon. 
• Bohol
• Yes, you can! It's a two hour ferry. Take the first one out the city, around five or six am. You can still see some of the highlights of the island in just a day.
